My Crazy Blessed Life!

For the last few weeks in science my kids have been learning about our Solar System. We have studied the Sun, Moon, stars, planets, and other bodies in the Solar System. It has been a lot of fun teaching and seeing them get so excited about our Solar System! I was trying to come up with a fun craft project while we were studying stars and I was in the middle of brainstorming how to get my kids to brush their teeth long enough. Relax Bottle/Time Out Timer

I love this idea…can’t wait to try this for my boys.

My Crazy Blessed Life!

Sooooo… I have a three-year-old little girl who is full of drama.  Probably not the only one in history, but one of my current dilemmas.  When time out time comes for bad behaviour I find myself with a little girl on the bottom step screaming, kicking walls and not able to even calm down enough to learn her lesson.  This was getting worse and worse until I told my husband, “there has to be a better way, I’m going to research this.”  So I went online and read other mom’s advice, dr’s advice, psychologist’s advice, etc.  Nothing was really working.  Finally I saw something called a mind jar.  This was a mason jar filled with water, clear gel glue and ultra fine glitter.  You shake it and the glitter settles slowly as you watch you relax.   The original ones I saw were to teach children to meditate (not my goal).  I loved…

XBOX Gaming Night

A week ago the boys & I attended XBOX Gaming Night at the Microsoft Store in Salem, NH. The event was sponsored by the Methuen SEPAC (Special Education Parent Advisory Council). It was a fun event for all ages and was open to all students & families within the Methuen School System.
The kids had a great time playing games, meeting new kids & seeing some of their friends. The employees at the Microsoft Store were very helpful and made sure the kids were all getting a chance to play at the different stations that were setup. They even had green XBOX bags to hand out to the kids to take home. The kids look forward to attending future events.
Did you attend this event? Does your school or community have events like this? I would love to hear what other communities & schools are doing, leave me a comment.

My Shy Guy?

My youngest son, Russell has always been my shyest. Always clingy, even around family & friends. But when it comes to the camera, he loves to make silly faces. Sometimes when I look at these photos, it’s hard to believe how shy he can be.
Do you have a shy little one? Do they like to be silly for the camera too? Share your stories in a comment below.
