Stars and Toothbrushes

Another fun jar project that is multi-functional. Can’t wait to make with the kids!

My Crazy Blessed Life!

For the last few weeks in science my kids have been learning about our Solar System. We have studied the Sun, Moon, stars, planets, and other bodies in the Solar System. It has been a lot of fun teaching and seeing them get so excited about our Solar System! I was trying to come up with a fun craft project while we were studying stars and I was in the middle of brainstorming how to get my kids to brush their teeth long enough. I put both things together and came up with this…

Relax Bottle/Time Out Timer

I love this idea…can’t wait to try this for my boys.

My Crazy Blessed Life!

Sooooo… I have a three-year-old little girl who is full of drama.  Probably not the only one in history, but one of my current dilemmas.  When time out time comes for bad behaviour I find myself with a little girl on the bottom step screaming, kicking walls and not able to even calm down enough to learn her lesson.  This was getting worse and worse until I told my husband, “there has to be a better way, I’m going to research this.”  So I went online and read other mom’s advice, dr’s advice, psychologist’s advice, etc.  Nothing was really working.  Finally I saw something called a mind jar.  This was a mason jar filled with water, clear gel glue and ultra fine glitter.  You shake it and the glitter settles slowly as you watch you relax.   The original ones I saw were to teach children to meditate (not my goal).  I loved…

Mom’s Job Never Ends

When my oldest son was born I was working full time in an office. I was lucky enough to be able to work part of the time at home. My days still were very structured, I had a lot of office work with dead lines for clients that had to get done. I only had the one baby, so it was fairly easy to keep up with the house and work. Fast forward 11 years, I now have a 3, 5 & 11 year old and have been home with the kids since the 5 year old was born.
Being a stay at home mom, definitely makes for some interesting days.

I love being able to be home for my kids, I am definitely grateful for that. I do find it much harder to constantly keep up with household things, like laundry and dishes. I always thought it would be easier to do that, but with kids home during the day there are more dishes & more laundry from cleaning up spills or toddler accidents.
No matter whether you are a stay at home mom or work outside the home, a mother’s job never ends.
I’d love to hear your stories. Are you a stay at home mom? Are you a working outside the home mom? What have your experiences been?
Have a good night!
